Can I challenge the NCLEX exam?
The North Carolina Board of Nursing does not allow any challenges (including military Corpsmen and those that partially completed an RN program) to the Board for eligibility to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). To be eligible to apply for the NCLEX-PN, you must have completed an approved Practical Nursing Education program.
What if I have changes to my information?
To make any change to your NCLEX Registration information:
1. you cannot have a test date scheduled
2. you must provide some kind of identifying information (SS#, date of birth, mother's maiden, etc)
3. you must provide what you want changed/corrected
Please inform (ExamDept@ncbon.com), and the change/correction will be made.
The information on your NC application can be changed at any time, but the above identifying information must be provided.
Are there review courses?
Sorry, but the NCBON does not offer or know of any review courses, study guides or other test prep help. Also, none can be recommended by the NCBON because of a conflict of interests. You may contact your nursing school to see if they can help. Or, you may try contacting another nursing program to see if they offer anything or could suggest anything. You can also contact the National Council to see if they can provide any test prep information. They are the organization that designs and develops the NCLEX (RN and PN) and they create the pool of exam questions. Their website is www.ncsbn.org, and you can search their site for review guides or test prep help.
